SACOSS has made a submission to the Department for Energy and Mining on the next phase of the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (2026–2030). Our submission highlights the urgent need to exclude outdated activities like gas appliance and lighting upgrades, increase energy productivity targets, and restore equity measures for low-income households who pay proportionally more for the scheme. We call for stronger accountability, transparency, and a greater focus on high-impact energy-saving measures that deliver lasting benefits to vulnerable South Australians.
