SACOSS has made a formal submission to the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA) advocating for stronger reporting metrics to safeguard customers affected by family violence. We support the introduction of performance reporting metrics for major retailers and call for their expansion to include small and intermediate retailers. Our submission highlights the critical need for clear reporting obligations to ensure that affected individuals receive adequate protections and assistance. We also emphasise concerns about the handling of sensitive data, the need for proactive identification of at-risk customers, and the importance of ensuring compliance through robust oversight.
