The community sector is at a crossroads. There is a rising demand for services from South Australians who are becoming increasingly desperate in a seemingly never-ending cost of living and housing crisis. When coupled with some wide-reaching workforce attraction, retention and development challenges this means that the sector itself is struggling to continue delivering the services and supports that the community have come to expect and that government partners with the sector to provide. In that context, serious reform of sector funding arrangements and a visionary strategy to address workforce needs, now and into the future, are the critical factors that will put the sector onto a pathway towards a more sustainable and secure future which will benefit all South Australians.
