South Australia once led the nation in social progress, but today many people experience breaches of their basic rights. SACOSS is urging the state government to act on the recommendations of the SA Parliament’s Social Development Committee by commencing public consultation to shape a Human Rights Act for South Australia. This legislation would consolidate existing protections, align with international human rights standards, and ensure that everyone — regardless of circumstance — can live with dignity, equality, and fairness under the law.
