The Indexation for the SA Not-for-Profit Sector report reveals that South Australia’s 2.5% indexation rate is the second-lowest in the country and fails to keep pace with rising wage, superannuation, and service delivery costs. Over the past four years, community organisations have lost 3.6% of funding value, with further losses expected unless supplementary indexation is provided. SACOSS calls on the state government to boost indexation in the Mid-Year Budget Review and adopt a sector-specific formula to ensure sustainable funding for essential community services.
