Heat-Ready South Australia
As we look ahead to the summer season in South Australia, it’s important that individuals and communities who may be at increased risk to extreme heat, including older adults, young children, people with health conditions or disabilities, those experiencing homelessness or social isolation, people living in inadequate housing and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, are equipped with the right information and tools to stay safe and well.
Join us – Red Cross, SES and SACOSS – as we explore practical strategies to build heat-ready communities, ensuring that the needs of people at increased risk are central to our extreme heat preparedness, planning and decision-making processes.
What to Expect:
- Ready for the Heat? Based on weather forecasts for the upcoming summer, learn about the multiple impacts of extreme heat and how we communicate these risks in ways that save lives.
- Real Voices, Real Solutions: Help shape extreme heat planning by ensuring the voices and needs of those most at risk are front and centre.
- Plan Together. Act Early. Stay Safe. Explore inclusive, practical initiatives that prioritise those most at risk and lay the groundwork for heat-ready communities.
- Interactive Info Stalls: Visit interactive information stalls to discover tools, resources and practical solutions that can be adapted and put into action by people at increased risk, communities and organisations.
