In its 2025 Annual Briefing to the South Australian Water Minister, SACOSS sets out a clear vision for an equitable future for water consumers, particularly those in regional, remote, and low-income communities. The briefing outlines how consumers outside the SA Water network face disproportionately high costs and unreliable services, and makes eight key recommendations, including adopting a rights-based approach to water, enforcing state-wide pricing, expanding concessions and CSO payments, and establishing a Remote Area Water Supply scheme. SACOSS also raises concern over shifting infrastructure costs onto consumers and calls for transparency, fairness, and the protection of vulnerable households to be at the heart of water policy and planning
