Balancing Power: A Legislative Council Election Panel
The makeup of the upper house looms as a critical outcome of the upcoming state election.
- Who will hold the Legislative Council’s balance of power?
- Who will get to block, amend or pass the government’s legislation?
- And who will be a champion for people experiencing poverty and the community services that support them?
With four cross-bench seats up for election, the balance of power in the upper house will come down to the last couple of seats. Come and meet the contenders for these pivotal positions at a special SACOSS, InDaily and Uniting Communities event.
Balancing Power: A Legislative Council Election Panel will be moderated by InDaily editor Belinda Willis, and is your opportunity to hear candidates’ priorities and ask how they will work towards a more equitable South Australia.
Audience members will have a chance to ask questions, but questions must be submitted in advance – details of how will be provided on registration.
