The South Australian government intends to introduce mandatory industry-wide training to combat sexual harassment and drink spiking in South Australian hospitality venues. The introduction of bystander awareness training will be guided by responses to the Consumer and Business Services’ Discussion Paper: Review of Training Requirements for the Purpose of Introducing Bystander Intervention Training. SACOSS’ submission supports the introduction of this training and highlights the importance of integrating this proposed training with comprehensive reforms of the Liquor Licensing Act that emphasise the paramountcy of harm minimisation.
