In its submission to the Australian Energy Market Commission, SACOSS strongly supports the proposed Integrated Distribution System Planning (IDSP) Rule Change as an essential step toward a fairer and more efficient energy system. The submission highlights the urgent need for greater transparency in how electricity networks operate, with Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs) required to collect and publish more granular localised data. SACOSS warns that without these reforms, low-income households, renters, and those unable to afford solar and battery technologies risk being unfairly burdened by rising energy costs. The proposed changes aim to improve planning, ensure costs and benefits are shared equitably, and secure better outcomes for all South Australian energy consumers
